FAQs

General Product Warranty Info

  • How do I order a Firearm or a Lower Receiver?

Call or Email us with your order. Find a reputable licensed FFL dealer in your area that will handle the transfer. You can search dealers in our FIND A DEALER tool under our dealer info tab. Most reputable dealers will provide this service for around $20-$50. This fee basically covers the cost of the paperwork and your background check. Please have the dealer of your choice send us a copy of their signed Federal Firearms License (FFL) in the form of a scanned copy to our ffl@bgdefense.com address. Please also have the dealer attach your name or order number along with the FFL so we can process your order without any delays.
Once we have received the dealers signed copy of their FFL and your payment, we will ship the firearm or lower receiver to your dealer.
Once the dealer receives the firearm or lower receiver, you will be notified by the dealer to complete your states necessary paperwork along with your background check.

  • How can I become a Dealer and get access to dealer pricing?

Go to our DEALER INFO Tab and access the BECOME A DEALER form and return to us via email.

  • What is your typical lead time on all firearms?

Due to raw material shortages and backlog on certain product lines, it is best to call or email for the most accurate up to date lead time for a specific model.

  • What is your lead time on all components and gear?

Our website is live, so if you can put the merchandise into the shopping cart, we have stock. If for some reason we are oversold, we will notify you with options.

  • Do you offer Military and/or Law Enforcement discounts?

Absolutely! Email us your MIL/LEO ID to sales@bgdefense.com and we will email you back with our discount program.

TYPE-A Platform Questions

  • What is a 300 Blackout Round?

The 300 AAC Blackout round is also known as a 7.62x35mm round, which is a 5.56mm cartridge cut and re-necked down to a 30 caliber bullet. The 300 AAC Blackout was developed to create a compact .30-cal solution in the AR-15 platform, use existing magazines while retaining their full capacity, and to create the optimal platform for sound and flash suppressed fire.

  • Is there a difference between 5.56 NATO & .223 Remington?

The .223 Remington cartridge has the same external dimensions as the 5.56x45mm NATO military cartridge. However the biggest difference is that the .223 Remington is loaded to a lower pressure/velocity compared to the 5.56 mm cartridge. Since the .223 Remington has lower pressure it is safe to shoot a .223 round through a 5.56mm chambered firearm. Now, the reverse is not true. Since the 5.56mm round creates a higher pressure, it is not safe to fire a 5.56mm round out of a .223 Remington chambered rifle.

  • What is the difference between the PRO models and the Contractor?

Our PRO model is the upgraded version of our SPR rifles and pistols. The PRO comes with an upgraded match grade 416R high corrosion resistant stainless steel barrel along with a stainless steel 30 position adjustable gas block. The PRO also has an upgraded Titanium Nitride bolt carrier group.

Our Contractor model is a fully ambidextrous billet receiver set with complete ambidextrous controls for right and left handed shooters. The Contractor line can be ordered both in a direct impingement system as well as a short stroke piston system. Our Contractor line also comes with the same upgraded match grade 416R stainless steel barrel as the PRO model and Titanium Nitride bolt carrier group as standard.

  • Do you have to take the handguard off to adjust the gas position on the gas block?

The adjustment for our gas block is located on the front face which does not require taking the handguard off to make any adjustments. Using an extended 3/32 hex wrench will work best when adjusting the gas block.
