The legendary M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS) was originally developed to replace the M24 bolt-action sniper rifle, giving U.S. military marksmen a semi-automatic 7.62 NATO precision rifle capable of faster follow-up shots and increased effectiveness in urban combat. Featuring a free-float barrel, suppressor compatibility, and a full-length quad rail for accessories, the M110 quickly proved itself as a versatile and highly capable precision weapon system. In April 2008, the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan became one of the first units to field the M110, where soldiers praised its improved rate of fire, modularity, and overall performance compared to the aging M24.

The foundation of the platform began with a request from a law enforcement agency for a compact and capable .308 rifle suited for densely populated environments. From that concept, we developed a robust AR-10 platform that emphasized durability, accuracy, and long-term reliability over aggressive weight reduction.
For the TYPE A M110 Restomod, we chose to stay with the traditional large-frame AR-10 architecture by combining the proven Armalite receiver cut with key DPMS SR-25 design features. Weight was intentionally not the primary objective. Instead, the goal was to create a stout, accurate rifle with exceptional balance and an aggressive stance worthy of the M110 heritage.
The TYPE A M110 Restomod is built around our all-new ambidextrous billet AR-10 Armalite platform and upgraded mil-spec components, creating an exceptionally versatile precision rifle. The 18-inch model features an 18-inch 416R stainless steel lightweight contour barrel, our new Mk14C handguard, Griffin Armament Dual-Lock PSR (OTB) muzzle device, and traditional A2 fixed stock with an A2 pistol grip for the unmistakable M110 profile.
