Description
This TYPE-A PRO is built on an accurate Long Rifle platform with proven mil-spec components to make it an incredibly versatile rifle. The PRO-18 Long Rifle is equipped with a 18″ 416R Stainless steel fluted barrel (improved accuracy) and a variety of different handguard selections with a ASR Ready muzzle to give it that aggressive stance. Fully furnished with B5 furniture, and 30 round capacity magazines. The TYPE-A PRO-18 Long Rifles is driven by our TYPE-A Chrome Nitride bolt carrier group w/R.E.M Polish. It’s also equipped with a DGI (direct gas impingement) system and our TYPE-A PMC Straight 2-stage trigger to give it consistent reliability time after time.
NOTE: All of our rifles are Hardcoat Anodized and then Cerakoted to give you a longer lasting more durable finish. We wanted your rifle to wear to the anodized surface vs. the raw aluminum surface like some of our competitors. Just another added benefit making our rifles…TYPE-A.

This 450 is a phenomenal rifle which I can’t wait to hunt with for the first time. I picked mine up earlier this month (7/2016) at the recommendation of my local gun-shop and I am so thrilled to have been introduced to BG Defense’s line of rifles.
What’s awesome about this rifle:
1. Look and Feel: my 450 is built to last and the quality is apparent across the board.
2. Firing: This weapon is incredibly accurate and the kick is very well managed considering the stopping power it delivers.
3. Value: From an empirical value stand point this rifle is best in class with all of the features, accessories & furniture it comes with in the box. From a pride in ownership and perceived value, I believe this gun is off the charts even when compared to a built yourself AR type 450.
4. I can fire my 450 below the Michigan rifle line!
Overall, I highly recommend anyone looking for an AR style hunting rifle which will meet/exceed their needs for North American big game take a look at this rifle. It’s quality and capability will make it an obviously apparent pack-leader.

Awesome rifle! For the price it can’t be beat!

Outstanding rifle and customer service. This is my second BG rifle and I couldn’t be happier. It is apparent from handling this rifle that these guys have an affinity for quality and tight tolerances. The cycling is smooth and there is very minimal play between the upper/lower receivers. I could on for pages about the trigger group alone. For brevity’s sake I just want to outline some findings on my initial outing with this 450.
Cycling: Ran this gun right out of the box and NO issues feeding/ejecting rounds. Smooth operation.
Fit/Finish: As stated before, the lockup between upper/lower receiver is great. Nice lines and smooth finish on everything. Top rails (upper receiver/fore-end) line up tight and perfectly. Even the phosphate coating on the BCG is smooth compared to other, cheaper, phosphate BCGs. These guys give great attention to detail.
Trigger Group: BG uses a proprietary 2-stage trigger system. I am a huge Geissele fan and this trigger feels just like a Geissele SSA. The straight trigger shoe is a nice feature and increases the sweet spot. It breaks clean at about 3.5lbs.
Performance: A Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x was mounted on this beast with the intention of carrying it in the tree stand this fall. Hornady 250gr FTX was all I could find on the shelves to test. I finished this range session with a 5 shot group that measured just under 1.5″ with all rounds touching. This was awesome considering it was shot with only 6x scope capability……and I’m usually a crappy bench shooter. Average chrono reading at the muzzle was 2050fps. The felt recoil was very soft and seemed close to a breach-loaded 44mag. I’m sure their buffer combined with the proprietary muzzle brake plays a big role in recoil reduction. The muzzle brake is pretty slick too. Not too large or gaudy, but definitely does it’s job.
Customer Service: I can’t say enough about how great these guys are to work with. Professional, personable, and friendly. If you call, they take the time to answer any questions you have. They’re ALWAYS quick and responsive when emailing with questions. I haven’t had any issues with either of my SIPRs….but if I did, I get the impression they would do just about anything to make it right.
Overall, this is a great rifle and if you’re in the market for a 450BM this is the one to buy. The fit/finish/performance of this SIPR make it worth well more than it’s listed price. Combine that with excellent customer service and I think you have one of the best production 450’s on the market today.

Absolutely the best out of the box/comp ready AR I’ve ever owned. On top of looking badass, this rifle offers tacdriving accuracy…..easy to achieve sub moa. It even throws XM193 more consistently and accurately than any other rifle I’ve ever owned. And the rifle-length adjustable gas system lets you dial it down to find that sweet spot for your ammo. Couple that with the overall length/balance and the movement on shot is almost nothing. Follow up shots are fast and precise. Still, one of my favorite aspects of the SIPR line is the handguard. There’s just enough real estate to get good purchase if you like to reach out for maximum control…..but not too much added weight or unused rail space. And it just looks cool. As always the fit between recievers is nice and tight. The level of care and detail these guys take in building their rifles is apparent with every aspect of this gun. The only thing this gun needs out of the box is a good optic and its ready to breath fire. Keep up the good work guys.

When I first bought this rifle, I loved it. I have to say, after owning it for a few years now, I love it even more. It’s amazingly accurate. I would highly recommend this rifle to anyone who loves guns. Period! Thank you BG! -Marcus
